Location: Le Very, Switzerland

A new design was required to harmonize the characterful but neglected house with its surroundings, to blend tradition with contemporary living and to provide a sustained supply of organic produce for the kitchen. The new design is organized around the building positioned in the centre of the plot. A series of structured gardens, all productive, yet architectural in style revive the idea of the ‘ferme ornee’; a working garden idealized.
