The installation ‘Champ de bière’ places a common consumer good in its centre: beer, a beverage promoting conviviality and social exchanges. The project site is located near Confignon, at the crossroads of the urban expansion of the Genevese conurbations and the city’s agricultural belt. ‘Champ de bière’ reveals the landscapes associated with the production process of this highly consumed product, appropriate to the staging of a festival. From production to consumption, these landscapes are nested one inside the other.

Heerenschürli serves as a hybrid sports complex and public park, giving the neighborhood facilities for organized sports as well as general leisure activities. A public square with seating and a restaurant are integrated into the complex; the lawns themselves are also public - openly accessible during the off-hours of the local athletic clubs.

The courtyard, a compact cube of approximately 30 x 30 x 30 metres, embodies a sense of sanctity. It has been created through the convalescence of various architectural facades that stand in stark contrast to one another in terms of material and topographical design. These surfaces complement the light shell limestone floor, which is home to a built-in water feature. The ever-changing light reflects in dynamic patterns against the facades, imbuing the space with theatrical movement.

The new high school located on the periphery of Wil is surrounded by a mix of industrial and peripheral uses, former gravel pit and housing blocks from the 1980’s. The new design for the open space takes on a peculiar double-identity: an outdoor lounge-scape for 700 teenagers and surrounding inhabitants is played against an interpretation of the surrounding oaks and gravel landscape into a generous, strong identity in accordance with the atmosphere of the new building.

The new Novartis Campus transformed a 51-acre site beside the Rhine River from an industrial landscape flanked with old train tracks into a modern and largely pedestrian research and administrative campus filled with outdoor parks, greens, and large-scale art. It offers sanctuary for Novartis’ nearly 5,500 employees.

When commissioned as designers for the new Physic Garden at Novartis Campus, Basel, Switzerland, the idea of trying to create a modern version of the medieval monastery garden intrigued us. It would add a depth of time to the place, as well as symbolic content: the monastery garden represents the very origin of pharmacy as a science and thus the activity of Novartis as a company.

Embankments caused by terrain modeling at different angles and exposures will produce a high biodiversity. A diverse native plant selection forms the basis, consisting trees, wild shrubs, floating-leaf plants and wildflower. The loft-residents can enter the waterpark on a wooden porch.
