Located on the shores of the Parramatta River at the northern end of the Rhodes Peninsula John Whitton Bridge Open Space provides a contemporary multi-functional open space under the historic John Whitton and Meadowbank pedestrian and rail bridges that links between the east and west sides of Rhodes. The design of the public open space for the John Whitton Bridge project creates a simple spatial structure which seeks to provide maximum community benefit and cater for a wide range of recreational opportunity and flexibility.

Balfour Street Park is a small scale neighbourhood park in Sydney created within the existing geometry of local streets and partial closure of Balfour Street. The pocket park forms a gateway to the new urban village of Central Park, formerly Carlton United Brewery, to become a pedestrian connection between the inner city suburbs of Chippendale and Broadway.

An iconic site within the middle of Sydney Harbour, Cockatoo Island embodies many of the cultural values that distinguish Sydney and its environs to the world stage. In providing a new use to this former ship yard, jail and defence establishment, public access and interpretation was a high priority.
